Arlene McClelland McRae

April 28, 1936 — June 28, 2020

Arlene McClelland McRae, also affectionately known as “Tip” was born on April 28, 1936 in Columbus County, North Carolina.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, North Carolina. 

A walk-through viewing will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Monday, July 6, 2020, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel. A graveside service to celebrate Arlene’s life will follow at Belvue Cemetery, 1055 Clarendon-Chadbourn Road, Chadbourn with Elder Wendell Gore officiating.

Arlene “Tip” McClelland McRae was preceded in death by her parents Sylvester and Iola Stanley McClelland; her husband Charles "Smitty" McRae; her son Donald Anthony Carter; and her daughter Marsha Denise McClelland.  

She leaves to cherish her memory, her grandson, Shaun J. McClelland of Indianapolis, Indiana; three nieces, Gwanetta Byant and Williette Sawyer, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Gaye Council of Dover, Delaware; three nephews, Willie McClelland of Charlotte, North Carolina, Allen McClelland of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Michael McClelland of Statesville, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
