Edward Hamer, Sr.

Edward Hamer, Sr., age 85 of Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 6, 1935, in Columbus County to the late Dolroe and Lillian Lewis Hamer.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Evergreen Community Cemetery, 1574 Old Hwy 74 Evergreen, North Carolina; Rev. Virgil H. Reaves will officiate.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel, 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn, North Carolina.

Survivors include three daughters Thay Lee Smith and Bonita J. Hamer both of Chadbourn and Greta D. Hamer of Stalbans, New York; one sister Audrey Hamer of Woodlawn, Maryland; two brothers Johnny W. Hamer (Elsie) of New Waverly, Texas and Dolroe Hamer, Jr. of Chadbourn; and one sister-in-law Bettye Hamer.

The family will receive family and friends at the home, please wear facial masks. 

All attendees are asked to please wear facial masks and practice social distancing for viewing and graveside service.
