Harvey McKenzie, Sr.

Mr. Harvey McKenzie, Sr., age 86, of Bladenboro passed away at his residence on Monday, May 26, 2025.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Baptist Church, located at 5548 Silver Spoon Road in Whiteville, NC. Pastor Timothy Lance will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church’s new cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, May 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at D&A Funeral Chapel. Additional viewing will be available at the church following the service on Saturday.

Mr. McKenzie is survived by his five children: Larry McKenzie, Harvey McKenzie Jr., Katrina McKenzie, Comillia McKenzie, and Shanida McKenzie. He is also remembered by his siblings: Virginia Mae (Delon) Wooten, Barbara (Leon) Wooten, Roanna Lennon, Vanesta (Billy) Ruffin, Starlin McKenzie, Lonnie (Renee) McKenzie, Terry (Loretta) McKenzie, and Joseph McKenzie.

He will be fondly remembered by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he touched.
