John L. Epps, Jr.

John L. Epps, Jr., age 77 of the Sandhill community in Whiteville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 28, 2020, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC. He was born on June 26, 1943, in Columbus County to the late John and Estelle Epps, Sr.

A graveside service will be held conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Sandhill Baptist Cemetery, 15580 Twisted Hickory Road, Bladenboro, North Carolina with Reverend James Smith, Mt. Calvary #2 Missionary Baptist Church, Little River, South Carolina will officiate.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel, 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn, North Carolina.

Survivors include two sisters Bessie Southern of Whiteville and Elouise Huckaby of Bristol, Connecticut; three brothers Henry Epps of Whiteville, Frederick Epps and Angelo Epps both of Paterson, New Jersey; a stepdaughter Sylvillar Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; and three stepsons Bobby Carter, Russell Carter, and Lee Carter all of Baltimore, Maryland.
