Reverend Adolphus Lawrence

Reverend Adolphus Lawrence, age 91, of Lake City, Florida, formerly of Chadbourn, North Carolina, passed on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 505 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn, North Carolina, with Pastor Virgil Reaves serving as eulogist. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Belvue Cemetery, located at 1055 Clarendon-Chadbourn Road, Chadbourn, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the church.

Reverend Lawrence leaves to cherish his loving memories three daughters: Vivian L. Sims (Frank) of Newport News, Virginia; Angie L. Cunningham (Jeffery) of Jacksonville, Florida; and Pamela Lawrence-Griffin (William) of Conway, South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Curtis Reaves, Sr. of Vienna, Virginia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
